Fort Myers area vs Naples area for family spring break

Our family of Grandma, Grandpa, Mom, Dad and three small boys ages 6, 3 and 1 will be flying into Fort Myers around Easter. We have not yet rented a condo. What area would you suggest to avoid the college crowd and for family fun?

Any rental suggestions - condos, homes, etc.?

Easter is the high season, prices will be higher then usual as will traffic...and I suggest you book something soon as accomodations fill up quick for that time of year.

I would recommend the southend of Ft Myers Beach.

you can try this site

www.baypointepropertymangagement.com

or vrbo to rent by owner

or tripadvisor the ft myers beach forum and click on vacation rentals...that will give you a good idea of what is available

The southern end without question.

Definitely not the north end of Fort Myers Beach during spring break. That's definitely party central, and it's not going to be child friendly. Condos at the south end that can sleep your family can also sleep a whole lot of spring breakers. If there are bars within walking distance, then stay away. I would expect Naples to have a more family friendly atmosphere.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I think we will look more south toward Naples - would appreciate any other suggestions.

We (family of four) stay at the south end of ft Myers beach every Easter and have never had an issue on the beach, in a restaurant or bar. We stay down near Santini plaza. Lots of family friendly places and great beach.

I agree South FMB would suit. Naples would too, but has an older age profile and can be more expensive for accomodation and food.

AS for weekly rentals, that is a zoning issue and each development tends to have to go thru Zoning seperately and they get a min rental term assigned. I have rented a private pool home in Naples for a week before, don't know about condos.
