I went from Crystal Beach to the Destin Bridge, as some of you know, you saw the photos.
I need everyone's help in referring people to this forum for answers to questions. My batteries are limited.
Destin fared very well! I didn't see major structural damage except for a few places. In fact, I was very happy with what I saw.
Presently, there is no power from the Destin Bridge through Sandestin. No word yet when it will be restored. Worse, no power trucks yet either. There is NO cell service on most phones, others are in and out. My land line is working, but I don't know about others. (old slim line phones don't need to be plugged in)
ANYTHING ON HOLIDAY ISLE, this includes Jetty East, Angean, etc, can not be accessed. The water breached the road, again, at Sandpiper Cove and the sheriff has the road blocked. No one in, no one out, including me. But by the looks of things, the pools are probably trashed, but wait until tomorrow.
If you are renting property on Holiday Isle, try to get in touch with your rental agents, however, with no power, very few will be able to be reached, just keep trying.
I cannot get to the beach in many places. The wind and access were too much.
Anyone staying near the Back Porch - that area was hit VERY bad. Silver Shells is not included. It seemed to fare well except for the beach bar or whatever that little building was.
I would check with my rental agent about pools for all condos in "down town Destin" meaning the area close to Big Kahunas.
The docks are fine.
Beach front property in Crystal Beach, you should call your agent. The water came up very high.
The road is washed completely out between Ft. Walton & Destin, but then again, who needs Ft.Walton!?!
The Inn at Crystal Beach - Water was laping at the parking lot wall, the weather station broadcast from there, I watched. I can't see the pool, can't get on to the beach yet.l
The way it looks, if you are scheduled to stay in property across the street from the beach, most seem fine, however, I don't know what the access to the beach will be.
Frangista Beach, I cannot get into Walton County to see it.
Motel 6 looked fine, just no power right now.
Give it until tomorrow and let's see what they can get accomplished.
Thanks all - my battery is running very low.;
