to drive from Fort Lauderdale to Sawgras Mills - quick route not scenic please.
Take Sunrise Blvd. west in Ft Lauderdale. No turns at all, straight out to Sawgrass Mills. On the way you will pass the Swap Shop one of the biggest flea markets in the world. You might enjoy stopping here. To get to the Sawgrass from your area is about 35 to 45 minutes depending on traffic. Hope you enjoy the area.
I might respectfully disagree with the other poster, but it would depend on where exactly in Deerfiled Beach you are starting - and if "time is money". I Mapquested directions from the Deerfield Beach Hilton ( at I-95 ) to Sawgrass and Mapquest recommends going east on Hillsborough Blvd and then south via the Sawgrass Expressway - which will have small toll- can't recall exactly how much, but I believe it is an unmanned toll so have quarters ready to throw in- and that gets you to Sawgrass Mall im 30 minutes. The other way requires you to go South( on I-95 I guess) and then west across a very busy stop and go portion of Sunrise Blvd- and I think depending on traffic the 45 minutes may be more accurate..
If you copy /paste the following into your browser- it will hopefully show you this on a map- and you can decide. I think some folks would rather drive Sawgrass XWay, which is usually less congested even though it is a toll road, than I-95 which can be quite intimidating to some.
But again, much would depend on how close you are staying to Hillsborough Blvd., how far west you will be starting out, and if you don't mind a small toll.
Unless my info is outdated,I think the toll would be about $1.50 , but I don't recall if it is collected all at once or in 25 cent increments along the way. I don't live out west, but have friends who do and use the road frequently. It should let you out very close to the Mall- I have seen signage directing to it as I approach the Mall.
Not certain it's the best choice for you- but should be considered.
