BIke Week |
Could anyone give me info on accommodation for Bike Week 2006, need hotel/motel for 5 nights. all hotels I have tried have no availability. Can anyone recommend accommodation close to main street, thanks |
I would stretch out your search to include Ormond Beach and Flagler Beach. They are very close to all of the action (within 20 minutes drive)
are you looking on the internet or calling the hotel, sometimes the hotels close out on the internet so they can control the bookings at the hotel.
Try Holiday Inn (N. Atlantic), LaQuinta, Ocean Walk, Hilton, Boardwalk Inn and Suites. A little farther south, try Bahama House, Sun Viking, Palm Plaza, Perry's, Emerald Shores and Oceanside Inn. Also, call the chamber of commerce...they have info on availability for special events.
Another nice hotel(not close to Main Street) is Coral Sands in Ormond Beach on Oceanshore Blvd(which is actually A1A). Very nice hotel with a pool & on the beach. Close to The Loop which is the scenic drive lot of the bikers take.

How much would you like to pay? More than $150 per night - or less? Go to daytonabeach.com and check availability - you will find something for 5 nights...

Harbie, I don't know how big Cheshire is, but I knew a guy who was from Middlewich - Andy Pickles. Ever hear of him?

I would try to stay away from main street if at all possible. A word of caution, the local officials are making things very difficult for bike week visitors. The local police are very strict when it comes to loud mufflers on bikes, noise past 10pm, etc. This is one of the main reasons Harley Davidson is moving from Daytona Beach to Ormond Beach. Try in the Ormond Beach area. The Iron Horse Saloon is a great place to go for Bike Week Festivities.

I have friends that work in various hotels - they tell me there are still PLENTY of rooms available for Bike Week. Where have you been making inquiries? Here are some lists of hotels you can look through: http://wikitravel.org/en/Daytona_Beach
