coral gables hotels near art galleries?

My husband and I will be in the Miami area for two days in January and have heard the Coral Gables area is a good area for art galleries. Any opinions? What would be the best hotel for ease of walking to the galleries? Thanks!

It's not hard to walk to any of the Galleries along and near Miracle Mile - maybe 8 blocks total length.

The Westin Colonade is central and could be a good choice. The Biltmore is a resort type hotel about 2 miles away - would be a great experience.

For less pricey options, there is a newly renovated Courtyard by Marriott nearby (add about a 4 block walk to the end of the Mile).

Book dinner one night at Ortanique. Miami fusion cuisine and high on the foodie list.

First Fridays in the Gables has lots of evening events at the galleries. There's a description of this here (read down the page a bit)
