Clearwater vs St Pete's Beach w/2 teens

Looking for a 3 night stay pre Orlando- husband, myself and 2 teens(19 and 17). Want nice beach but don't want teens to be bored- nor do us old folks want noisy party area.

Any ideas on which area might best suite our needs? How far is St Pete's Beach form Pier 60 area in Clearwater? And what is driving distance to Orlando atraction area? Thanks

Clearwater Beach sounds like it would be better. There is usually a little bit of a younger crowd than St. Pete. Clearwater will be more active, teens playing frisbee, catch etc. Your teens will not get bored there and they will have plenty to look at! Mom and dad could hang out North of Pier 60 around the Palm Pavillion and enjoy a little quieter area, enjoy nice lunches and drinks at the Palm Pavillion, and the kids could walk between there, and Pier 60 and the more crowded area.

St. Pete beach is a lot longer beach, so no one area really gets a good crowd. Folks will mainly hang out on the beach near their hotel/apt. It is overall a slower pace, and quieter than Clearwater. The teens might get bored.

Driving along the beach from St. Pete Beach to Clearwater Beach will take about 30-45 minutes. A bit longer on a weekend or holiday.

Clearwater Beach to Disney will be about a 2 hour drive.
