Lone female looking for 1-day coach trip from NJ to CT

While my husband will be working in Piskataway NJ, I will need to occupy myself for 3 days.

I have always wanted to visit Connecticut, so thought this would be an opportunity to grab. I figured that I would be able to cope with a 1-day coach trip; but from where would it start ? Manhattan/NJ ?

There is very little to no info 'out there' on this kind of trip, unless one is driving a car.

Am I being unrealistic ?

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Many TIA !

It depends on what and where you want to go. There are buses from NJ and NYC to the casinos.

the only one day bus trips go to the casinos. A better idea might be to look into the getaways that Metronorth railroad runs from NYC

Thank you for replying but casinos are not my 'thing'.

I was hoping to do a guided sightseeing 1 day bus tour in connecticut, preferably around greenwich. But any area in connecticut for that matter.

You won't find guided tours of CT as there is nothing you can see in a day due to how spread out things are. You could take a few days just to see the Route 1 Corridor along the coast or could take a few days spending it in the Northwest corner for antiquing. States in New England are better for going at a slow pace rather than just trying to do tours.

I think your best bet would be Metro North to Greenwich and walking around. Alternatively, I would look at New Haven for the Yale Campus, etc. Or look at Amtrak to Mystic (don't know how often there is a train)
