What is typical snow condition at Winter Park in late March?

Our spring break is the week of March 25th and we are considering coming to Winter Park to ski. What is weather in late March like at the ski resort? Will there be snow to ski? Since we will travel from PA, advanced planning needs to be done and there will be a lot of penalty if we cancel the trip. Thanks!

I can't speak specifically to Winter Park or attempt to predict weather conditions for your trip time but typically March is an excellent month to ski. Warm temps, soft snow, and lots of fun.

Usually there is plenty of snow, but you have to like spring skiing conditions. They're not our favorite, so we don't generally book trips after mid-March, but many people love it.

I never understand why East Coast people ask about snow in Colorado in March. It's our snowiest month.

Typically we get 3 foot powder dumps right up to closing day in mid-April. Often beyond Closing Day. I can't count the number of times Berthoud Pass has closed due to a giant snowstorm during the week before Splash or during Splash weekend. Avalanches close the pass and then locals get all the powder.

The base of Winter Park sits at 9,000 feet. It's called altitude. Expect anything from spring to mid-winter conditions in March, April, May. It can and does snow any month of the year in the mountains. August snowstorms are a hoot.

Last season was just an abnormal snow year.
