I was curious if anyone thought this idea was crazy. I was thinking of taking Amtrak to Fraser from Denver on a Friday when my boys are on Spring Break. I see that according to Amtrak the West-bound train gets to Fraser at 10:07 am and the East-bound leaves at 3:50 pm. We live close enough where we could drive, but my wife and I think our kids would love to take the train since they all like them. I've also never taken a train that route and thought it would be cool. Not to mention I won't have to deal with possible traffic and/or weather with driving.
With the understanding that the trains *could* be late/early, it seems completely do-able. I see that the tubing hills are about a mile away from the train station. I'm considering either walking or taking a taxi. Anyone know what the walk is like? Sidewalks or mostly on-street? Safe?
Also, I keep noticing people keep saying to go to the old hill, not the new one. Why? We could get a two for one coupon for the new hill, so I'm curious what is wrong with the new hill.
Curious if anyone has any input they could add, thanks!
