Hi,

A group of us are renting a house and a car in Mountain Village for the week and curious to know where the supermarket/grocery stores are? Should we shop on the way in from Montrose, or are there decent sized stores in town? If so, what are there names and how far away are they? Thanks!

I've stayed in town for the last two vacations, so I'm not so familiar w/ the Mountain Village. There is a grocery store in the old town - and a nice liquor store too - but I don't recall seeing either in the Mountain Village. IIRC, the grocery store is on Pine Street, just south of Colorado. The liquor store is around the corner on Pacific, east of Pine.

Hit the Walmart in Montrose, it is the biggest selection in the area. If you forget that one, then Clarkes at the base of LIft #7 in Telluride 700 W.Pacific. Of course, there is a market in Mountain Village but you get taken on small pkg prices and selection REMEMBER No retail beer/alcohol sales 'cept for nearbeer on Sundays!!!!
