my husband does durango to cameron every year, wanted to throw in telluride. is it a good drive or are the passes really daunting? many thanks in advance (i'll be in HI w/ kids and hope he WONT drive over a cliff) |

Hi We have been on a daytrip Cortez-Telluride-Ridgway-Ouray-Durango-Cortez some years ago. Took us all day with the stops and we had to recover next day-lol- And that was with a car. But what a day!!. It's curves, mountains, daunting and challenging and should not be missed esp. if your hubby is an experienced motorcyclist, and this ride is in no compare with the smooth drive between Durango and Cameron. I used to own a motorcycle here. The roads are stunning and beautiful but by no means are they inherently dangerous. The biggest issues here would be rockfall and wildlife on the road. I would honestly be more worried about trying to navigate a motorcycle in busy city traffic with everyone driving monster SUVs! | ||||||
