Good food near the airport

Hello. My group will be arriving around 1230 from the East coast. We will be ready to have lunch as soon as we pick up our rental cars. Can you suggest a nearby restaurant we prefer fresh, locally sourced food and not chains.

Thank you!

Howdy cmc,

I like Garlic Mikes. I am not sure they are open for lunch. You might give them a call. It is probably a 15 minute drive into town. They have a map on their website. If they are not open for lunch, ask them where they go for lunch.

Have a great trip.

I'm a big fan of Guru's (nepali food) and Asii (Thai food) in Montrose.

Thank you. You have given us several good choices. We are driving on to Telluride so I will probably check to see what puts us in the right direction.

They all will!

I don't think any of the restaurants listed are more than a block or two off of your route.

Garlic Mikes is no longer in business in Montrose.

+1 on Asii and The Camp Robber

Pahgre's (Italian, including excellent pizza & pastas) definitely uses locally-grown produce as does The Camp Robber. Both are partners in the non-profit Valley Food Partnership

Camp Robber is on your route and is one of our favorites. Pahgre's, too. We like their house salad. We also like Stone House.

Simmer is in the first block off Townsend east on Main Street and I keep hearing good things about them but haven't been there yet.

Ted Nelson's Steakhouse has moved to the building on East Main where Garlic Mike's was. It would be a few blocks off your route, but has good food.

I would probably opt for Camp Robber. If it is a nice day you can sit outside on their small patio and enjoy some fresh air after the plane trip. It has been in Montrose for a long time and has a varied menu. My second choice for local lunch would either be Pahgre's or Don Gilberto's if you feel like a good burrito! They are all on the south end of town on your way.
