Hi!

I just tried looking up the rate for a car rental to take me from MTJ to LAS on a road trip for 10 days. I got $1300 from Hertz. That seems ridiculously high. It looks like the price triples if you leave Colorado.

How would you recommend handling the rental car for something like this? I think Enterprise has a better deal...but you have to fly into Grand Junction. Enterprise claims to give you free mileage from Grand Junction to Colorado "as far as Las Vegas". Convenient...if it's what I hope it is.

Is your road trip one way?

Last I knew, Montrose has Avis, Budget

Dollar, Enterprise, National, and Alamo

For some reason I couldn't get the Enterprise website to come up...so...

I just tried Budget website and got $768 with 1100 miles free and .32 per mi after 1100. (for a compact) one way Montrose to LAS

I've had pretty good luck bidding on Priceline in the past.
