White water rafting near Keystone

We will be in Keystone, Colorado at the end of July with 14 and 18 year old children. What is best full day white water rafting near there.

That is a great activity book Keystone has!

AVA is a good reputable company. The three options they offer are all very different IMO. The Colorado River trip is a great float trip - a couple smaller rapids, but mostly floating down a river and enjoying the scenery - it is about 1hr+ away from Keystone. It is a lower altitude area, so nice and hot - which is great for jumping off the boat in to the river.

The Clear Creek option is the closest to you at about 30+ minutes away to the east. There are sections of the river that are class III/IV whitewater but pretty much all along I-70. For this very reason I think it is a nice option if you are short on time, but not the best option for an outdoorsy Colorado experience. End of July it 'should' still be at good water levels, but something to ask about when booking.

The Arkansas is what I think would be your best option, it is about 1.45hr south of Keystone. There are a couple run options there - the Numbers Run is Class IV whitewater and the Brown's Canyon run is Class III - so it depends on what kind of experience you want. Both those runs have beautiful mountain scenery. If you do a half day - go in the morning, as afternoon rain showers can roll in on you and make for a chilly rafting experience. Have Fun!

AVA has installed a ziplines in the Arkansas Valley area - they also have the Idaho Springs one - so maybe a combo trip would be fun too!

We just returned from a vacation in Keystone and drove south to Buena Vista for a half day rafting trip through Brown's Canyon with Kodi Rafting. It was a great trip and our two children are the same age as yours. It was worth the drive. Check out the Trip Advisor reviews on Kodi Rafting. They were excellent.
