we are a party of 18 people coming from england to do the grand circle we will be staying in grand junction over the 4th july holiday what happens in grand junction on that day
Here in Grand Junction proper, we'll have a parade in the morning and fireworks in the evening. In neighboring Palisade, there's talk of a festival with live music, games and such. It's still pretty early to know for sure.
I'd keep an eye on the chamber of commerce websites as they update closer to July.

BTW, I'm jealous of your Grand Circle trip. I've lived less than 30 miles from Utah for six years and still haven't visited all the parks.
Fruita always has their fireworks on July 3rd so it doesn't conflict with the Grand Junction's events. So, you may be able to do both if you get here early enough. If you stay at any of the hotels on the south side of I-70 in Fruita you will have a great view of the fireworks since they are done across the Colorado river on high ground. I have done the grand circle and it is so good. Just be sure to wear sunscreen, and drink plenty of water. It is high and dry here and in Utah so you want to stay hydrated to prevent problems with altitude sickness.
