Although we have visited the Dillon/Breckenridge area many times, this year we plan to be there in Aug. and we've never been there in summer. We're trying to get some ideas of outdoor activities. We like driving off the beaten path roads, going to ghost towns, hiking easy trails, perhaps fly fishing, canoeing, rafting, etc. Any suggestions would be appreciated. THANKS.

Drive: Breck up and over Boreas Pass Rd to Como, back via Fairplay
or down to Buena Vista (st. elmo ghost town) back up via Leadville
Rafting: Browns Canyon. Water will be fairly low by then

Thanks, Matt. We have been to St. Elmo's and loved it. We will probably go back down that way again this year--especially to Leadville. i'm sorry I didn't see this post (for some reason didn't get an email notification that you had answered so posted again with basically the same questions). I think we'll try the Boreas Pass Rd. to Como and back via Fairplay. I don't think we've done that before. I appreciate your suggestions. Linda
