Family Trip to Colorado with 2 college age girls-need advice

Planning our summer trip to Colorado with our daughters. Flying into Denver and trying to figure where to stay. Breckenridge, Dillon, Frisco or where? Interests include biking, hiking, sightseeing, and of course some shopping. Dillon looks nice but am wondering if Breckenridge would have more places to stay and more activities.

I would choose Breckenridge as more activities for the fam and the girls.

Thank you for your response- now where to stay in Breckenridge? Looks like there are plenty of condos available when we are planning.to go. River Mountain Lodge looks nice- any other suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated. I will keep looking on this wonderful forum but it is always nice to get more advice.

River Mtn. Lodge is nice. Great location, walk to everything.

If staying there, I would ask for a unit on the east side overlooking the river. (higher up if possible).

Village at Breckenridge, Mountain Thunder, Main Street Station are worth a look.

Breckenridge has a whole lot of great family activites - the Welcome Center on Main Street is a good resource when you arrive in town to pick up the info. In addition to the resorts mentioned above, Beaver Run Resort is always popular with families - and it's close to downtown. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the info- was wondering also about Trails End or The Lift. Have found places there on Flipkey but not seen any info on those two. When asking about a room at River Mountain Lodge- how do you "ask" for a unit on the east side. I thought this was condo's rented out by owners or managers? Can you call them directly? Thanks so much

River Mountain Lodge- the owners (as with any condo complex) can choose any property management company or do it themselves and advertise thru websites such as vrbo.com/homeaway....

With that said, there are a lot of owners that rent with the property management that is onsite...you can try them at 970-453-4711.

Trails End vs Lift- without seeing pics. More likely to have a larger unit (square footage wise) at The Lift.

Trails End is a great complex for ski in/out but since you are coming in the summer, you might like the larger unit at The Lift. Surface parking, most likely stairs up to your unit. The Lift has access to the Columbine pool which has a heated pool and indoor/outdoor hot tubs. Short ez walk to main st. (go thru Main St. Station).

Other complexes worth a look near The Lift are

MountainWood, Timbernest, SnoDallion, Columbine Condo, The Corral.

Sorry but have more questions. We also have been looking at the Wedgewood or Winterset. Both look nice - any comments or experience with these condos would be greatly appreciated. I was also wondering - since we plan to be very busy with being "tourists" - we really do not need much for a place to stay. Are there any hotels in Breckenridge that offer a complimentary breakfast? We are really looking forward to our trip and greatly appreciate all the suggestions.
