Will be staying in Hollywood/West Hollywood in late June for 3 nights, and need to figure out which hotel I will book.
I will have a car, so transportation isn't an issue, but I don't know if I should stay in Hollywood over West Hollywood - not sure if it really matters since I have a car. I'll be going with my girlfriend who has never been to California before (I go every year, but stay with family), so I want to do the touristy things (walk of fame, hollywood sign, graumans theater) and other things like universal or disney, venice beach/santa monica pier, etc..
So far I've looked at:
1. Le Parc Suites (W. Hollywod) - rooms are huge, read a lot of reviews that a lot are outdated/needing renovations. Saw a manager of the hotel mention that renovations are being done in second quarter of this year, so maybe I'll be fine. Seems like a good location, although in a residential area. Like the rooftop pool/tennis courts. Got a rate of $185/night by contacting the hotel.
2. Magic Castle (Hollywood) - one bedroom suite looks nice, although more expensive than Le Parc for a smaller room. maybe a more favorable location? $227/night it looks like for this room.
3. Hollywood Roosevelt - I think I found this one on Hotwire for $150/night with a King bed (gave the option of choosing the bed). Read a bunch of so-so reviews, not sure what the room will be like since it's through Hotwire and I'd like something with some space.
Any feedback on these, or other ideas? Would like to stay in the $200 or less range per night, Hollywood/West Hollywood, and a large room if possible. Should I go with Le Parc?
