tours from Ukiah

Are there any nature tours that begin from Ukiah in California?

I'm interested in the Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon, Yosemite National Park, Giant Sequoias and Coast Redwood old-growth forests.

If there are no tours from Ukiah, CA, then where is the nearest pickup point for such tours?

Thank you.

I am sure that you will not find tour companies picking up in Ukiah, since it is a relatively small town of 16,000 and it would not be cost effective for a tour company to have a pickup spot there.

But since you live near there why don't you check with a travel agent in Ukiah?

You know, I suppose, that by driving north you can visit the Coast Redwood old-growth forests yoursef.

Or.....do you not live in Talmadge, as your profile indicates? Are you a new resident?

Thank you for your reply.

I'm a foreigner and do not have a license for driving in USA. I cannot find any nature groups to join locally to visit these places either.

Most tours begin in the bigger cities. Look at TrekAmerica, Intrepid SunTrek, and Green Tortoise. Some of the options from those companies spend quite a bit of time in nature; some offer camping as a choice for tours so you're really 'in' nature!

Also look at MeetUp.com

There's a large Buddhist community in Talmage so J H may just be visiting.

One option for seeing sequoias is via Amtrak. Their bus stops in Ukiah and it's possible to get a package tour to Sequoia National Park. It's only offered in summer, however.

Amtrak (via bus and train) can get one to other cities all over the country to join escorted tours. San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas are hubs for tours in the California and Nevada region. But, it's possible to get all the way up into Canada and Alaska (after transferring to a ferry in Seattle) as well as the Pacific Northwest.
