What to do after touring the vinyards!

We are a group of ladies from 35-65 will be visiting Temecula in Feb. during the week. We will be doing a wine tour during the day but we are looking for something to do in the evening. We are staying in the downtown area, besides dinner we would like a lounge or somewhere to dance and have some fun. We may be old but we are lively! Any recomedations? Thanks

The Pechanga Resort/Casino is very close by.

Old Town Temecula is right there too, with restaurants and bars.

If it is on a Thursday, there are a number of options for live music and dancing in Old Town Temecula. Tesoro Winery Tasting Room has an open mic night until at least 9p, and The Edge has been having an R & B Band playing. Viva Vino has Salsa Dancing(Tuesday nights they often have salsa lessons open to the public). Crush and Brew often offers live music.

There is Karaoke at a number of locations throughout Temecula. The Temecula Stampede in Old Town is a country western honky tonk, and offers a variety of activities various nights of the week. Cellars 93 in the Promenade Mall Complex offers live music numerous evenings also.

Previouly you could count on entertainment options soley on Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons. If you research a bit, Temecula has matured quite a bit regarding entertainment at a variety of restaurants, bars, wineries and wine tasting rooms various nights of the week.

"Temecula Night Out" is a website offering a pretty thorough rundown of what's available.

Hello and welcome to the Temecula Forum!

Yes there is quite a bit to do down in Old Town in the evening. However, from the stories of my 'Party' daughter and her friends - those things tend to focus on the 20-30 crowd. Just keep that in mind when going into Old Town.

The Stampede mentioned above is a fav with the marines from Pendleton and San Diego and tends to get quite rowdy on occasions. Fights and drunks are regular events there. I wouldn't suggest it as the night continues. They do offer line dancing lessons in the early evening that are fun. Again - the Stampede caters to the younger crowd which could get annoying for some in your group.

Since Pechanga is a casino - smoking is allowed throughout the gambling rooms - you do come out smelling like an ashtray - and if the smoke bothers you - its not a place I would suggest. I personally cannot take it. The restaurants there are nothing special - again the smoke ruins the atmosphere for me - but the food is nothing special as well and very over priced.

The majority of the business located on the 'Temecula Night Out' site are not even located in Old Town and are actually spread all over the valley. If you are trying to avoid driving around, a better source of Old Town Activities are here: http://www.oldtowntemecula.com.

Rodrigos - a mexican restaurant up off of Winchester Road offers salsa dancing lessons - go here for specifics - http://rodrigos.com/?page_id=82. I believe the lessons were on Wednesday nights, but I'm not certain. Give them a call and ask. The downside with this is that it is a bit of a drive from Old Town - about 10 minutes - because you are going through Temecula stop signals and traffic. Its not far from Old Town, but our traffic can be a bit of a pain on occasions.

If you need any specific info - please feel free to PM me - I'll be glad to help you out.

Just a caution - I would avoid February 14-17 - as it tends to get very busy here during that time.

The only thing I like about Pechanga is the Comedy Club there.

IF they still have it check to see the time schedule for performances.

My wife and I are not smokers and we don't find Pechanga to be as bad as some others say. It is a very large casino hotel resort in Temecula. It is quite elegant with several restaurants, clubs, theater, etc. It is the largest casino in the Western United states. There is a non[smoking gaming section and all the restaurants, clubs, etc. are non-smoking.

Meadowlark, mind elaborating on why it gets so busy during the middle of February? Thinking of possibly going there this upcoming February and would like to avoid any crazy busy times. Thanks!

She was likely referring to Valentine's weekend visitors.

Yes - I was referring to the Valentine's weekend. Wine tasting seems to be a popular choice for romance, especially when one combines it with the various bed/breakfast facilities in the area.
