Tehachapi is a very small town. There isn't a Wal-mart, but you could easily purchase things at the local K-mart, Albertsons and Savemart. Very limited public transportation. If you will be staying in town, it is easy to walk everywhere or ride a bike.

Depends on the time of year you will be in Tehachapi. Popular activities around the area include hiking, shooting guns and flying airplanes. If you will be there in the winter, there will most likely be plenty of snow in the mountains for sledding.
