Help

Traveling to this area for a wedding in Oct. 2012. We know nothing about the area and are looking for help on accomodations,etc...

We are looking for a nice place for a married couple. Price is not really an issue as we will use this time as a holiday

We will fly into LAX......from there we are at a loss! Thanks in advance for any advice

Hi FigN

Assume the wedding is somewhere in the Santa Ynez Valley wine country? We need a little more help. Where exactly is it? It's a beautiful area with lots of options!

If it were me, I would be looking at the Santa Ynez Inn or Ballard Inn as a place to stay. Both are in the B&B style, though. Not sure that's what you're looking for.

Be sure to check your options by clicking on the "Santa Ynez Hotels" link in the green box to the left of this page. This will give a list of lodgings in the area along with guest reviews.

I was told Santa Ynez, Ca. and that some people were staying in Solvang. I know nothing about the area and would like to take time for a nice little trip for my wife and me since we will be traveling across the country. We will probably stay 4 or 5 nights. We would like to go to some wineries, etc... What kind of weather should we expect? Any ideas on things we should do? Thanks in advance

Have stayed several times at the Santa Ynez Valley Marriott in Buellton (few miles from Solvang), it is nice and quiet since it is not right on the freeway.

Solvang would be okay. It's a really pretty town at night. Be sure to check the hotel options for Solvang to see if something appeals to you.

It will most likely be quite hot in October. Lots of wineries, there is the casino in Santa Ynez with a spa, lots of hiking in the area, there is a Sideways Tour, lots of touristy shops in Solvang, Michael Jackson's Neverland is closeby as well.

zebarscruiser, thanks for the reply. What do you mean by hot, 80or 90 degrees? I like the ideas, but will pass on Neverland LOL!

Average temperature in October is 83. I'd skip Neverland too...
