Are there car rentals within walking distance from the Santa Monica Pier/Travelodge, esp Alamo or Hertz?

How much is the cab fare from LAX to the pier? Can 4 adults and 2 young kids travel in a cab?

If you can get a minivan as a cab - you can fit 4 adults and 2 kids. If you rent a car at LAX, the drive to Santa Monica is very easy. You can do it without getting on the freeway if you want.

Enterprise, Hertz, National & Budget are all located in Santa Monica. We have had really good luck with Hertz the last couple of times we have travelled.

Cab fare is $25 from LAX to Santa Monica. There's a car rental agency on the corner of Ocean and Pico Blvd.
