I can tell you where they used to be, but now I can't think of any orchards more immediate in this area that still live up to the term.

There's still a tiny patch off Lawrence Expressway in Sunnyvale.

Other little patches may remain on McKean Rd in San Jose, Canada Rd in Woodside, in Fremont, in Pleasanton, in Morgan Hill, in Gilroy, and/or on La Honda Rd/Hwy 84.

Otherwise, try the Central Valley, like along Hwy 4 and Hwy 120.

There are several city and county parks around San Jose where you could see whole meadows or hillsides of wildflowers. These are natural areas, not orchards (cultivated places), so the time frame for blooming isn't predictable with any exactness.

You have Alum Rock City Park and Joseph Grant County Park on the east side; New Almaden Quicksilver County Park on the southwest (a fascinating historic mercury mine area as well as a great place to enjoy nature and hiking); Rancho San Antonio to the north on Hwy 280 (open space preserve with a working ranch); and Henry W. Coe State Park near Morgan Hill, which is the largest state park in California and has a variety of habitats where you could see plants and animals.

There are some orchards east of San Juan Bautista that you might check out.

In Morgan Hill, there are some nice cherry orchards off of Half Rd on the east side of Hwy 101 - the cherries are in bloom this time of year.

If you are interested in apple trees and don't mind driving over the hill, Corralitos has some great apple orchards - check out Green Valley Road, Pioneer, Varni, Corralitos Rd, Browns Valley Rd.

You can probably pin point where some orchards are by using Google Maps with the satillite view - you'll be able to see the orchards.
