 Carne Asada Burritos?

I use to live in San Diego and frequent Lolita's Taco Shop for their awesome carne asada burritos (just steak meat and guac) and jalapeno carrots. Has anyone had anything like this in Sacramento?

got- honestly, I am not the Mexican foodie in our household- my wife is. Having said that, I'll go with both her and TA recco's for some places "within the grid" of downtown in the city Sacramento.

TA reviews classify Mexican/southwestern in one big category, and I think that is a bit of disservice to reional cuisine enthusiasts. For example, The Tower restaurant comes out on top of a TA search for Mexiacn food, and I would not put it near the top in that category. Its a great place, but more for southwestern influence.

I would check out menus and reviews for Ernesto's, Tres Hermana's, Zocalo, and Vallejo's to start. Ernestos and Zocalo are usually busy, and have a wonderful following. Online menus available. All are reviewed extensively here on TA.

I hope to actually start a nice thread here for you, and lets get some quality input about specific Carne Asada experience. Thx, Dave

Awesome! Thanks for the help! I will look at the online menus but was kind of hoping maybe someone on the board has had a carne asada burrito in San Diego and has a recommendation for something close to it in Sac. Thanks again!

Regrettably, the only place to get a decent cheap burrito close to downtown is La Fiesta Taqueria on Alhambra. I'm not their biggest fan, but I know many who are and they do a brisk business.

My favorite two cheap taquerias are Taqueria Garibaldi on Howe and the little known El Herradero on Arden. Never had a bad meal at either.
