New year's eve in Palm Springs

Hi,

Do you guys know of any special event in PS for new year's eve?

My partner and I (in our 30s) will be in PS along with my parents (50s) for new year's eve week end. I'm wondering what the best places to go are during the day on the 31st.

Can anyone also recommend a restaurant for NY's eve?

Will any shop/restaurant be open on January 1st?

It would be useful if you would give an idea of your price range and interests for restaurant recommendations (gay or straight, type of food, price, party place, etc.?) You will need reservations for almost anyplace for NYE.

During the day of the 31st the stores will be open for shopping. Most restaurants will be open on Jan 1st but some stores will be closed.

Le Vallauris (it might go over your $80 pp limit but for New Year's I think this might be tough)

Melvyn's at the Ingleside Inn. It was where Frank Sinatra often ate when he was in Palm Springs

I second Le Valluris - would be perfect, but probably over the $$$ level. We had a wonderful time there the past 2 years. Food isn;t up to their usual quality, but no where is on NYE.

We're looking for a new place that our teens will be happy too.
