Can you guys give me some advice as best way back and forth, things to see in the same day as a A's game, maybe places to avoid and best places to have a beer with A's fans around the stadium, thanks!!!

The easiest way to reach the Coliseum is to take BART. BART operates two train lines directly from SF to the Coliseum/Oakland Airport Station. There is a pedestrian bridge connecting the station to the Coliseum. More information: http://www.bart.gov

BART tips:

1. Train lines are referred to by final destination, not color. You will want to take a Fremont or Dublin/Pleasanton train there and a Daly City train back.

2. Purchase a round-trip ticket (2x the one-way fare) when you first enter BART so you can avoid the ticket line on the way back.

The neighborhood around the Coliseum is not very good. However, there are some beautiful parts of Oakland worth visiting. Read more here: tripadvisor.com/Travel-g32810-s204/Oakland:C…

I am not up-to-date on my sports bar knowledge, but others should be able to point you in the right direction.

davdaven, per usual, has given you an excellent response on transportation.

On the bar scene - there is a large bar close to the Westside Club. This area is open to everyone at the stadium (i.e. not for people with a certain ticket type). It is nice and opens before the game - full bar, lots of TVs to still catch the action on the field, and so forth.

You can get a view of the Westside Club on this web site

The bar area is close by.

(Note: Westside Club also offers baseball type fare - but you get to sit at tables. If you make a reservation in advance, you can often get a table by the windows overlooking home plate.)
