My elderly mother and I will be visiting Chukchansi in March, and aside from gaming at the resort, we would like to check out the neighboring towns. My mom uses a walker, exclusively, so she is limited by stairs. We adore going to antique stores, or any other type of curio shops, and also love finding " out of the ordinary " places to dine.
We were also wondering about Coarsegold, and or Clovis for these as well. Thank you.
Clovis has alot of antique stores, all in one area. It will be just under an hour to reach Clovis. Oakhurst also has several, but they are all spread out. There are also several art galleries, museums and interesting restaurants.
For dining in Oakhurst, I recommend Woody's New Orleans West just off of Hwy 49 on Junction Drive. It is one of my favorite restaurants in the are.
We also enjoy Vintages restaurant at the casino for a fine dining experience
