Monteray/Carmel lodging

I am planning a trip for a group from LA to San Francisco. We want to stay one night, July 4 2006 in the area. The problem is 3 rooms consisting of 2 rooms with 2 adults and one room with 2 adults and 2 children, ages 14 and 17. This third room with 2 children causes most booking sites to esclude any booking. Any suggestions would be appreciated. ( all non-smokers, non-drinkers.) thanks !

San Carlos Days Inn is actually a pretty nice motel. It was the best price we could find for family when they came to visit here. The rooms are motel standard, no pool, within walking distance of downtown. We booked 5-6 rooms including rooms for 4 kids.

You may want to conside the Best Western Beach Resort. It is right on the beach, about a five minute drive to Monterey. Pool, jacuzzi, restaurant, great service. Check their website for deals and book asap for the 4th anywhere in this area! Have a great trip! :)

Two possibilities: the Embassy Suites--2-room suites can accomodate 4 people. They also have an indoor pool, which you might enjoy in the cool, foggy July weather. Another is the Andril Fireplace Cottages in Pacific Grove. They offer one and two-bedroom cottages in a very nice setting close to the ocean.
