Santa Monica

Hi, we will be in LA in April for a couple of days. Last time we were there, in the 1990's, we went to Santa Monica ,it was August and it was completely dead, no one on the beach or around that area so we just drove on through.

Has it changed over the years or did we just go on a bad day? Posts here all talk about Santa Monica so is it worth us trying again?

We have been the last two years to Santa Monica in August and i guess you will see a big change ,the pier is the central point juring the day and early evening and 3rd st promanade is very busy for eating and shopping in the late evening.

Your comments are puzzling. It is hard to think of Santa Monica being dead, ever. It just seems like variations on busy. Something doesn't make sense.

Definitely try again and definitely make sure your point of reference is accurate. Park around the Third Street Promenade and start wandering. The area is very visitor friendly in the classic beach scene.

Let us know your impressions the second time. It would be interesting.
