You do realize that the places you list are hours apart, by car. Double the time by bus. Extremely expensive by taxi, and not possible in some cases (like Tijuana). Have you looked at a map?

Disneyland is an hour from LA but hotels are cheaper there. There's a baseball team in Anaheim, too. Or are you going to a Dodger game?

There will probably be a free shuttle from Union Station to Dodger Stadium for the game, they have in years past.

For Disneyland you can take the train (Metrolink or Amtrak) to Anaheim and a cab to Disneyland. You can also book a tour (Starline has one) but that will limit your time in the park. You could also arrange for a private shuttle or car service.

Your best options are the Hollywood and Highland area or downtown LA. Starline tours leave from the H and H area so that is a benefit of staying there and it is an easy Metro ride to get to Union Station.

The other option is Anaheim near Disneyland. This would let you get the most out of your day at DL so you can be at the park at opening and leave at closing and just walk to and from the park. Starline does a Tiajuana tour from Anaheim. The Citadel also has a shuttle from the Anaheim area or you could go to a mall in that area via the bus. The Angels play in Anaheim if they are in town during your visit. To go to a Dodger game you can take Amtrak to and from Union station. The free shuttle will be OK to go but the last train to Anaheim is 10:10 so you would need to get a cab to Union Station and make sure you leave the game in time.

Which "LA" team??? The Los Angeles Dodgers, which is near the Downtown LA/Hollywood area, or the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, which is near Disneyland.

If you are planning to see an Angels game, then stay in the Anaheim/Garden Grove area, plenty of access to Shopping and many other places, head to the Anaheim Forum and check out the Top Questions that talk about Public Transit.

If you really want to go to Tijuana by yourself, take the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner Train south to the last stop, the Santa Fe Station in Downtown San Diego, and transfer to the San Diego Trolley Light Rail System to San Ysidro and cross the border. Just plan ahead, to cross back into the US, you can find waits up to 2 hours to go through Customs and Immigration.

If you are head to a day game at Dodgers Stadium, I would still stay in Anaheim, and take the Amtrak or Metrolink train to Union Station (North) and catch the Dodgers Express.

Alas, the last Amtrak train southbound leaves Union Station around 10 PM, so not practical for a night game, so I would look at the Hollywood and Highland area for a Hotel room for that night at least.

If you're really serious about wanting to go to Tijuana, stay in Anaheim. Take taxi or OCTA bus 43 from there to the Anaheim or Fullerton train station. You can take Amtrak or Metrolink north to Union Station in downtown LA. www.amtrak.com or www.metrolinktrains.com At Union Station there's a free shuttle bus to Dodger Stadium. For Tijuana, I echo the above suggestions to research it - its generally not a good idea to go there - but in any case you can take the train from Anaheim or Fullerton down to the Santa Fe Depot in San Diego as described above, then transport from there to the border.

OK, with a 6 PM start, and most games running about 2 and 1/2 hours to 3 hours, you could base yourself in Anaheim and use Amtrak and the Dodgers Express Bus to catch the last train at 10:10 PM. The only issue would be extra innings. If the game goes after 9 PM, then you will have to decide, I would just say I had a good 3 hours of entertainment, and catch a Dodgers Express Bus to Union Station to catch the train. If you miss the last train, you are looking at over $100 in taxi fare plus tip.

A Hotel I like in Anaheim, and is walking distance to the Amtrak Station is the Ayres Anaheim, it is reasonably priced, nice large rooms with a small fridge and microwave, and a great free breakfast with cooked to order items most of the week. Rated the #1 Hotel here at TA in the city of Anaheim. (Note, the ratings are a reflection of customer satisfaction, and not how nice or how many amenities it has, that has a seperate star rating.

The Los Angeles Dodgers play at Dodgers Stadium near Downtown LA and Union Station.

But with the early start time, you can just take a day trip using the Amtrak Train from Anaheim to Union Station, and then a short bus trip using the Dodgers Express to the stadium.

Anaheim is the "central" location if you want to see the Dodgers, visit Disneyland and head to the San Diego/Tijuana area.

You can also split up your stay, but then you have transit time and what to do with your luggage if only using public transit.
