Hey there. I live like 3 blocks away from the Crescent, it's a fine boutique hotel that's centrally-located.
Actually, for the holidays, Bev Hills has installed an ice skating ring that will be like 1 block from where you're staying, so for $8, that would be fun to do. Obviously, you've got Rodeo Dr. and Beverly Drive just blocks away for all of your shopping needs. You've also got a TON of really great restaurants in the area: Mr. Chow, Spago, Mastro's Steak House, etc.
You don't really mention what your budget, age-range, or interests are. But I would check out the Staples Center website to see if there's a Lakers or Clippers game that you could check out.
I would also go for a quick "hike" at Runyon Canyon, which will only take you 60-90 minutes, based on your fitness level, but which will give you an amazing panoramic view of LA, from the Valley, to Hollywood, to Downtown, to Bev Hills, to the beach.
So many things to see and do. It all depends on your interest and budget. If it were me, I would stay away from "chain" type attractions that you could do elsewhere (ie, I never understand why people come here to go to Disneyland or Universal, when you could do those attractions in other cities, but that's just me).
