More info is needed in order to help you!!

WHEN are you coming?

Who is in your group?

What are your interests?

What is your budget for lodging?

Will you have a car?

We are not going to send folks on hikes if they just want to shop and loll at a beach so we need to know what type of trip and what types of activities you seek??????

First, review the left and right side of this page for things to do. Do that for each city. This will be a good way to figure out how many days you want to spend in each city.

My suggestion would be to fly into LA, spend some time visiting our city (I recommend renting a car upon arrival). The drive to San Francisco via Pacific Coast Highway is very scenic (it does take 2 or 3 days to drive in order to fully appreciate the things to do along the way). Spend whatever time you like in San Francisco and drive back to LA if you want to return the car. Drive on down to San Diego if you don't want to return the car.

You can take an Amtrak train to San Diego from downtown LA, visit that city and return home from San Diego. The reason I suggest the Amtrak is to avoid the different location charge most car rental agencies will charge you. If you don't want to take the train and wish to avoid the rental charge, you'll need to drive back to LAX to go home.

Finally, ask questions about each city on its own forum. We can help you with LA, but the good people in San Francisco and San Diego are better able to help you with those cities.

Happy planning!
