We are a private group of 19 travelling from Fresno (Holiday Day Inn Downtown) to Las Vegas by 25-seater mini bus, stopping at Primm for shopping at the Fashion Outlets of Las Vegas. What is the distance between Fresno and Primm and how long would the journey take? We are afraid that we may not have enough time to do our shopping.

Would also appreciate if anyone can advise whether a 25-seater mini bus is comfortable enough for a group of 20 (including tour leader) for long rides.

I just drove Fresno to Primm then on to Las Vegas a few months ago.

In a private passenger car it took me about 5 hours and 15 minutes. I would plan for your group about 5 hours and 30 minutes assuming no stops.

If you stop for a meal or restroom break add another 30 minutes to the total time.

Just a comment also about meals. I don't know what the group organizer has arranged, if anything, for food while you are in Fresno.

Be aware that there are few choices for dinner in Downtown Fresno. Besides the Holiday Inn restaurants you might also consider eating next door at Club One. It is a poker casino but it has a good restaurant inside.

If you need other restaurant suggestions elsewhere in Fresno just ask on this board.

What do you know about the 25-seat bus? Is it a tour bus?

Here in the States there are some mini-buses that are used for school children. Those have a straight back and little leg room.

So if it is a mini-school bus it would not be comfortable. A mini-tour bus with reclining seats should be OK.

Thank you so much, FresnoFacts, for your help. Our tour organiser has arranged "Home Town Buffet Fresno" dinner for us at 3744 N. Blackstone Ave.

We will be travelling from SFO to Yosemite and staying over at Fresno for the night. After Vegas, we are going on to Anaheim for a few days before we go back to SFO, all by road. We are advised it's more economical that way with our big group. So, I should think we will be getting a mini tour bus.

Are you staying in Fresno after Yosemite or before? I ask because Fresno is out of the way from San Francicco to Yosemite.

As for dinner at Hometown Buffet. You could do better. Its cheap and has a large selection of very blah food. Its not in a great part of town, no where near your hotel and IMO not very good. I don't eat there. There are too many places with better food for the price, even with a large group, to eat.

There are plenty of restaurants that can accomodate your group. We have lots of ethnic restaurants: mexican, aremenian/mediterranean, Indian and steak houses etc. that could work for your group.

EatNSleep ~ are you traveling from the San Francisco airport (SFO) to Yosemite Valley (4 hours) then on to Fresno (1 1/2 + hours) all in one day? I hope you have arranged to spend more time in Yosemite that this!

We arrive in SFO from Singapore on 12 Dec and leave on 13 Dec morning for Yosemite after which we spend the night in Fresno. I do realise that we may not have as much time as we would like in Yosemite. But it would probably be too tiring for us (with a couple of elderly people and a ahndful of children) to travel to Fresno on 12 Dec after a long flight.

Thank you, Muffya and PacificNWFamily, for your help. Muffya, I believe we can get the tour organiser to let us pick an alternative venue for dinner for the same dollar value. Which would you recommend in the same price range as Hometown Buffet?(I have no idea how much it costs). We would be happy with Mediterranean, Italian or any other Western cuisine.
