Doubletree hotel Commerce to San pedro cruise terminal

We need to get from the Doubletree hotel in Commerce to the cruise terminal in San Pedro. Would it be easy enough to use public transport?

Not really convenient, especially if you have a lot of baggage. You'll have to walk to the bus stop, then take a 25 minute bus ride northbound to downtown, and then connect to a 45 minute express bus to Catalina Terminal. From there , you'll have a shuttle ride over to the cruise terminal.

What day of the week/ time is this going to be?

As the name implies, Commerce is a heavy industrial area. Doubletree is adjacent to the Citadel Outlet Mall and near a casino but there's not too much else in the area. It's also not too scenic unless you're into factories, railroad yards, and truck depots. :-) Last comment is I would hesitate to walk around the area at night, though I don't want to make it sound like a hotbed of crime.

I'd definitely rent a car or consider another area if it's possible to change.

By the way, Commerce is nowhere near El Segundo so your question might get more response in the Los Angeles forum. (El Segundo is on the south side of LAX airport).
