Embassy Suites South El Segundo

We are traveling in August and would like to use the hop on hop off bus from Starline Tours. Will this be ok from this hotel? Also, is the hotel nice and clean? We are 4 adults and 1 16 year old. Do you think I suite will be big enough. Any info. on how far Rodeo Dr. is and the best way to get there?

I think the suite will be crowded with 4 adults and a 16 year old in the same unit. They do have 2 double beds in the bedroom and the sofa makes into a sleeper in the living area. Better to get two suites so 4 adults are not in one room.

The hotel is nice and clean. The complimentary hot breakfast is really good at this hotel and they do have a Manager's nightly cocktail reception with snacks.

They do have an arrangement for tours, have you contacted the hotel?

Here is a list of distance from LAX to the sights in LA. Will you have your own rental car?

Are you going to have a car while here? The Embassy Suites in El Segundo is a good choice among the airport hotels. Having said that, unless you are only here for one night and have an early morning flight, the airport hotels in general are not good choices - the airport is not too central and there's not a lot of dining options or walking around at night things to do. If you can share your per night hotel budget with us we might be able to recommend a better located hotel for you.

Starline will pick you up from this hotel and take you to their main depot in Hollywood for the Hop-On/Hop-Off tour - one of the tour loops (there are four separate routes/buses, you can take as many as you like) goes to Rodeo Drive.

Otherwise, reaching Rodeo on public transportation from that hotel will involve three buses and take a couple of hours. Its about a 15 mile drive if you'll have a car.

We will have a car but was hoping to use the Starline hop on hop off bus for 2 days. We were hoping to stay here for 3 nights then 2 nights in Santa Monica possibly at the Hotel California which is on the beach. So, Starline will pick us up to get to the hop on hop off bus stop? How long will that take? Has anyone been on the Starline City Tour, if so were the stops to short. Or do you suggest to do that the first day and then the hop on bus the 2nd day to return to certain places?

Thanks!

While in El Segundo, drive your rental car a few miles south to Manhattan Beach Blvd. to get an idea of a SoCal beach town and have a meal. There are many restaurants at the base of the Pier. It's fun to watch the surfers off the pier, as well as bike riders, boogie boarders and skaters.
