Universal City is really just a couple of hotels, the studio and theme park, City Walk and a couple of office buildings. A nice enough area, but unless I only wanted to do stuff at Universal Studios and City Walk, I wouldn't stay there. It is up on a hill, which isolates it.

You've posted in the Commerce forum which is not near universal nor a good place to stay. Universal City is as described above. The hotels sit on the freeway in an unattractive spot.

Hey The Crowne Plaza Commerce has one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on and it is a really nice hotel.
