We will be heading to San Diego next June as DH has a conference. The conference is at the Sheraton near the San Diego airport. We have two kids DD(13) and DS(10). We went to Legoland Germany in 2009 while living in Ireland (back in Eastern Canada now). DS really wants to return. DH doesn't want to head to Disney. So I'm trying to plan a few days before and/or after the conference.
So I'm thinking of staying in Carlsbad for a few days. After the conference it would probably involve driving up Friday (June 28) for 2 nights and going to the park on the Friday and Saturday and flying home on the Sunday. Else we can fly in on maybe June 18 (Tuesday) and stay for 3-4 nights and go to Legoland and maybe a few nearby sights. I'm not sure what deals they have next year but this year they have so 2nd day free or 5 days for the price of 1. I'm figuring between the park and the waterpark we would need at least 2 days anyway, particularly if there is not much extra cost.
Any thoughts on this. Also I know some places in Carlsbad have shuttles, would this be a good option. Thanks
