If you check the hotel reviews, you will find one which likes the Downtown Berkeley Inn and says that it is near campus. I also think they said a 25 minute walk from the Greek Theatre. See if you can find it.

I am a Berkeley alum from "some" years ago and was about to tell you that it was probably way down on Shattuck or somewhere since I had never heard of it. I was wrong.

See what some research on this forum gets you? It would be a "safe" walk, in my outdated opinion. Berkeley students, while they are seen as pretty radical, are not generally violent. (:D.

The reviews on here convinced me that it is a good place to stay. I think they are a new place. I wanted to stay at the Durant, but they are booked due to a Cal game.

I don't suppose you're referring to the white stripes concert? We're coming in from florida and i found a place that's a close walk...
