Fruit stands off the 99

I'll be driving home from Yosemite down the 99 in a couple of weeks and I've always wanted to stop at one of the fruit stands I see. Can anyone recommend a good one to stop at with easy on/off access? Thanks.

This is a basic article with agricultural info about Hwy 99: tripadvisor.com/Travel-g28926-c175348

There are two fruit stands that I can think of, but they're before Hwy 99. Both are on Hwy 41.

This little one is in Oakhurst, just before you get into town: http://goo.gl/maps/FGm9l

This one is almost to Fresno. Sumner-Peck http://goo.gl/maps/Cje05

Underdog_SPP has a gift for writing. I think he is a retired tour bus driver, and he was probably lots of fun to travel with on long journeys.

The 41 works for me too as I'll be leaving from Wawona. Thanks.

ETA That is a great article--maybe I shouldn't rush down the road!

Summner Peck is a nice stop. They sell both local fruit and local wines.

Also Simonian Farms is a good stop for the entire family. It is only 10 minutes off 99 take the Jensen exit go east (the first exit south of the 99/41 interchange, then east on Jensen Avenue to Clovis Avenue).

Simonian Farms not long ago added an indoor antiques museum called Old Town with other activities like a small arcade/shooting gallery for kids and a soda fountain/candy store.

For adults Simonian's Old Town building includes wine tasting, mainly of their fruit wines. Simonian's produces and sells their own Pomegranate, Blackberry, Apricot, and Plum wines.

Bravo Farms on 99 in Traver has a small fruit stand, wine tasting and many other activities to go along with their cheese making/selling operation. Another nice stop to allow kids to stretch. (Bravo will open another location in a few weeks on I-5 at Kettleman City)
