Pollenca or puerto andratx??

Please can someone give me a bit of info on puerto pollensa? Restaurants etc? Is it similar to andratx? Are there some good quality restaurants?

Thanks in advance!

Never stayed in PA but have stayed, many times in PP. PP is very flat, ( thus its popularity with the oldies like me) with the background of mountains, on the road to Formentor. Lots of restaurants on the 'prom,' the surrounding streets and the Square. The major part of the beach is west of the marina and tourist office. East of the marina, there are spots of beach and the well known Pinewalk, leading to the Ilya D'Or hotel. PP, as opposed to the inland town of Pollenca, is much bigger and more accessible than PA, but further from the airport. Hope that helps!

There are far more choices in Pto Pollensa than in Pto Andraitx. Choice of beaches, many restaurants and hotels (but apartments have even wider choice) at all price levels. Imo PP doesn't quite have the same in-crowd cachet of PA nor such a pretty marina, there again it's not all high-end prices in shops, bars and restaurants.

Here again it's all a matter of personal opinions but I think Restaurant Stay in Puerto Pollensa is one of Majorca's fine restaurants. The a la carte prices are steep but the all inclusive menu del dia (available in the evenings) is good value for money.
