I went for a 3-day gorilla safari in Bwindi at the end of April and it was really excellent. We had very good weather and the jungle was particularly challenging, though I would recommend some sturdy boots with grip as there were some trickier bits to walk through.
I travelled on my own and booked through Border-Less Travel Uganda, whom I found to be both the cheapest and the most responsive of the operators I contacted. Peter was very helpful, arranging my trip at short notice in the week prior to my arrival. My driver and tour guide Robert was very kind and knowledgeable, patiently driving the 8 hours or so, especially on the way there, when I was so fatigued that I slept the majority of the drive.
The gorillas were amazing to see, and the trackers and rangers all very friendly.
It was really worth spending some time in Buhoma after seeing the gorillas as it was an opportunity to relax, play some pool and chat withthe people working there and the musical performance at the orphanage was also great.
Thanks very much to all involved.
