A taxi from Wadi Rum to Aqaba central town costs 25JD, to the Israeli border 30JD. It would take about an hour and a half.

There is actually a morning bus, except on Fridays, leaving Wadi Rum at 7.30am, but this bus is not really reliable and in addition is often crowded out with the local people.

You could take the Petra bus as far as the Highway and flag down a bus to Aqaba, this is what the locals do. The fare however, would be the same as going to Petra, 7JD. All the buses going south from the Rum Intersection are going to Aqaba, the only problem is getting on the bus which is often full to the roof!
