70 JOD taxi Aqaba to Petra

Hi,

The Movenpick Hotel in Wadi Musa has quoted me 70 JOD to drive us from

the Aqaba/Israel border to their hotel one way.

Is this a fair price considering it avoids us having to negotiate with driver's at the border?

Thanks,

William

A taxi should only cost you 45 JOD.

I entirely agree about 45JD, but I think the official price is posted there as 55JD, the Movenpick must have added on "for their expenses in arranging the taxi", also, as I have said in another thread, they have to give 10JD to the taxis waiting at the border.

It's entirely up to you if you accept or not. On the one hand you don't have to negotiate a price, as you say, on the other hand if you don't see the taxi, you would have to look for it you can't just take another taxi.

That's the 5* price of a 5* hotel I guess :-(

Mougly

thanks for letting the forum know

that is a fair price for hotel taxi. You might be able to get a slightly cheaper one but it could be dodgy and can end u p cost you more.Remember cheap is not always the best.

there has been increase in petrol prices TODAY of 8%

One question we haven't asked is how many people are in your family? If you are four people or more, it might be that the hotel is quoting the price of a large taxi.
