By car from Tel Aviv to Petra?

Hello everyone,

we are a group of 3 Europeans and one Israeli and would like to go with our Israeli friend's car to Petra. Is it possible to cross the Eilat border by car? Or will we have problems?

Thank u in advance!!

It is not very easy to obtain the necessary documents, but if your friend wants to take the trouble then go ahead! Once you have the documents, there should be no problem, apart from the delay while they are checked.

:) the hustle ofthe documents, insurance and Jordaniann plates as well as the costs of all this, then the checking as amariya mentions here above...then you will enjoy the trip.

Happy New Year!

Thank you all!!

Would you recommend better leaving the car at the border and renting a car at Aqaba or taking the sheruts to move around?

We would need to go to Wadi Rum and Petra and will stay there for 2 nights.

thank u!
