Our family went with Joenjo Tours in July 2011. After some months of email contact with careful planning, we finally met Vasko in Sulawesi. The time with Vasko contained everything we had hoped for and much more.

We had some very exiting days in Tana Toraja with trekking and visit to many interesting places. Visiting a funural was the highlight and thanks to Vasko we had all proper dress-code after some shopping in the local market. Then it was a bit easier to blend in as a tourist and you feel a lot better that way.

Another highlight was a visit to the local cattle market with buffaloes and pics for sale. After a week diving and relaxing at Living Colour Dive Resort in Bunaken, Vasko picked us up again in Manado and we had a trip to see the small monkey, Tarsius, vulcanoes and local life in the North of Sulawesi.

I would recommend the service of Vasko and Joenjo Tours to everyone. He speeks fluently English, has a lot of humour and is very flexible in the travel plans and adaptive to suggestions and ideas. If you are travelling with children, you are sure to be in good hands as well.

PLEASE be very careful when reading all these so called recommendations.

I would be very wary of travellers with no other input on this forum posting glowing reports about a travel company in Sulawesi.

A quick search on LP thorn forum shows posts upon posts of the scams that go on in Sulawesi with travel companies - the same people having numerous websites and etc. and how so many travellers have lost their deposits.

I agree with pamela, but i think its not all, some suggest from me, if you find any site, try find a menu "about us" on these manu you may find out about the company and if the company has a legality then they will put the information regarding legality of their company, and if its no information about the legality , i think you have to find others company.

I'm happy with my job as a tour guide in Indonesia, especially in Sulawesi tour..anyhow the competition are higher now. There so many option for the guest to chose where they can get the best price and services.

My advise :

Please asking the person who contact with you, to posting his ID Card from Indonesia Tourist Guide Association, Why?

Because all of the member are register on every chapter of the Association in every regency. So you can check their name through search engine (google or similar).

Indonesia Tourist Guide Association is the only legal Tourist guide Association which is been Certified by Indonesia Tourism & Creative Ministeries.

The Member of the Association it's been Certified as a tour guide by The National Professional Certification Board of Indonesian Government.
