Wonder who does the publicity for Nerja council? The carnival was on Saturday the 25th Feb - and we missed the whole thing!
A fine drizzle and a chill wind kept us indoors and it was only when a couple of face-painted kids in fancy dress passed under our balcony that we realised we had missed something.
I immediately dashed out with my trusty digital and managed to get some shots of the tail end of things. The bit I saw was fantastic (my favourite word since coming to Nerja) and the costumes and floats must have taken months to create. Seeing the whole show would, I am sure, have been one hell of an experience.
My thanks to all those performers who took time to pause and pose for my diddy camera.
Why could the carnival not have been promoted properly? Surely a few posters dotted here and there, would not cost the earth!
One gets the feeling that such events might be deliberately secretised so as to keep tourists away? We did ask around about two weeks ago for info, and were told the date of the carnival was one of Nerja´s best kept secrets.
