La Posada -any help?

OK, Which room should we ask for? We are watching our cost as we are staying the month in Sedona but I want to stay there one night. Breakfast, dinner> Cocktails (martini)? Any details to share? THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!

The room really doesn't matter. It's the charm of the entire hotel. If you're hanging out in your room, you'll miss that.

No, not hanging in the room but thought the front of the back would make a difference. We can't wait for our trip! THANKS!

The back is where the train tracks are. That might be good or bad. You will hear the trains no matter where you are.

You might want to simply call the hotel and ask. I think that they have some new rooms (or newly renovated rooms?) on the East side of the hotel that aren't listed on their website.

Those new rooms are absolutely awesome! Request them if you can! If you don't like climbing stairs, or have a lot of luggage to haul around, you might want a room downstairs.

If train noise bothers you then you should mention this when you make the reservation and request a quiet room towards the front of the hotel! The Turquoise Room is their restaurant and they have excellent food served by women in the traditional Harvey Girl uniforms.

http://www.laposada.org/ Many of the rooms are named after movie stars who once stayed there.

Do not expect luxury type rooms but they are nice and priced reasonably. When you check in they will give you a self guided book for the hotel. Take the time to read it and follow the tour as directed to admire the antiques, art, and learn the history of the hotel. The hotel currently does have one wing currently under construction but it should not interfere with your stay.
