If anyone is looking for a house to rent in Dominical I highly recommend this one. Can be seen at home away or vrbo.com/320777 it has 4 bedrooms with an office that can be used as a room. Pool toucans and monkeys. Also has on site caretakers that could not be nicer. 3hour drive from San Jose. We stayed over Xmas and loved it!!!
Headed to Casa Buendia next week....we rent often from VRBO and have found that amenities differ froom house to house. Anything you can tell us about this one? Should I expect to find some basics like salt, spices, laundry deterent, coffee filters,paper towels? HOUSE DOES LOOK BEAUTIFUL!
we had a great experience at casa buendia it is pretty much as described.. when we arrived and found the caretakers are lving in a couple of rooms off the garage we thought it might be strange but they couldn't be nicer. you see as much or as little as you want. eric cleans the pool early mornings and his wife yelba empties the wastebaskets( they ask you not to flush toilet paper but put it in the basket). there were spices and could have been a few towels but i know we did buy some. i had brought some tide pods and they worked out well(THINGS ARE EXPENSIVE IN THE STORE) the washing machine is in the garage and yelba looked after it for us she may have even used her soap from time to time.
not sure of your age group but if you have anyone older going have them take the inside stair case, the front stairs are pretty steep. eric will take you to a waterfall close by and also on a walk thru the property in search for monkkies (you may see howler monkies near the waterfall).
before we left san jose we went shopping at wal mart for some supplies and there is a maxi pali on the way to the house( bigger store run by wal mart).a t the end of the street when leaving the house if you turn left there is a small market.
please tell eric and yelba the group from boston says hello, we were there over xmas. he gave us his email but it did not work! they do not speak much english but he uses his phone to translate.

Other kids are 4 , 8, 10, 12 ; 2 sets of parents and grandma and grandpa. Did you find any snorkeling spots accessible from the shore? Sould we expect to exchange money or is US cash accepted like it is in SanJose?
house is pretty kid friendly we had a 6yr old and 3 teenagers. the only thing to watch for is the stairs going down to the garage they are at the end of the hallway ( good place to get a running start!!). did not snorkel .no need to change alot of cash us is accepted.
