We are 3 adults who will be in Phoenix for the first time at the end of December.
We would like to be close to a mall and resturants in a nice neighbour hood,not intrested in night life.
Could any one tell me what part of town we should stay in?
Scottsdale,glendale,chandler,tempe,phoenix,etc.
Look at the Westin Kierland, next to Kierland Commons and Scottsdale Quarter, walking distance if you like. Up the street at Scottsdale Road and Bell Road are an assortment of chain hotels, Springhill Suites, Residence Inn, Courtyard by Marriott, Sleep Inn, not walking distance but a 5 min drive. Also close by is the Fairmont Princess and Zona Resort & Suites. Those two "malls" are outstanding for shopping and dining, neither have a ton of night life, but there are places that are open at night and stay busy.
Also, any of the hotels in downtown Scottsdale would fit your needs, pretty much unlimited shopping, dining and entertainment, look near Scottsdale Road and Camelback. There are nightclubs in abundance in the downtown area, so depending where you stay, noise might be a problem at night. Take a look at Firesky, Chaparral Suites, Doubletree Paradise Valley Resort, Holiday Inn Express to name a few.

Staying in Old Town Scottsdale will get you the best of both worlds. Most hotels in this area will be walkable to The Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall and many independent shops on the surrounding streets that you won't find at home. Also, this area is rife with all types of restaurants, so you will have your pick of some of the best and most interesting in our area.
